The Government of Thailand maintains a very friendly attitude towards tourism, so obtaining documents for staying in the Kingdom can be done quickly.
Important
-
Russian citizens do not require a visa if they visit the country exclusively for tourism and their stay does not exceed 30 days.
-
For stays longer than 30 days or for non-tourism purposes, a visa is required. Children under 14 years old do not require a visa.
-
The most important document is the passport. It must be clean and not wrinkled. Yes, otherwise entry may be denied. And of course, it must be valid for at least 6 months after the trip.
Options for staying in Thailand
30-day stamp
Stamped on entry into the country. It can be extended locally for 7 days at the immigration office.
Single-entry visa
Allows a 60-day stay with a stamp in the passport. The visa can be extended locally for another 30 days. Total 90 days.
Double-entry visa
Allows a 60-day stay per entry with a stamp in the passport. After the first 60+30 days, you must leave the country and re-enter for another 60 days with a possible 30-day extension.
One-year student visa
Issued based on study, e.g., Thai language courses. Maximum visa term is one year, with renewal every 3 months. Travel outside the Kingdom during study is possible but with conditions.
One-year retirement visa
Issued to persons over 50 years old, with at least 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account. The funds must be held for at least 60 days before applying. Renewal every 3 months is required.
Business visa
Issued based on actual business in the Kingdom. Given when opening a company and investing funds in Thailand.
Visa processing and validity
-
Visa is processed within three working days.

Consular fees apply to all applicants including minors.
-
Documents can be submitted personally or via a trusted person with a notarized power of attorney.
